From ‘Large’ John Brock comes the advice (from What No One Ever …) comes this sage advice:
Improve your vocabulary. A painter is nothing without his palette of paints. Similarly, a writer is nothing without his words, and the more you know, the more you have to work with, and the better you can express yourself.
The best and most painless way to improve vocabulary is just to read a lot. Read anything, and from varied sources, from fiction, non-fiction, online and in print. It’s all relevent.
I like writing, and I gather loads and loads of information about writing, both fiction (perhaps my first love) and non-fiction (like this blog you’re reading).
